Moderator’s announcement is currently missing in the new interface and is a great feature :

  • For virtual event with embeded live video : If you have a technical problem, to alert participants.
  • For live meetings : A way to announce what’s comming next, or that the pause is over and it’s time to go back to the conference room.

Thanks for sharing the reasons why you like this feature! We will be adding the Announcements feature but in a different way which is still being developed.

We will have the rest of the features available within the following months before we deprecate the old interface permanently.

The Announcements feature is currently being worked on for the New Host Mode. 

You can find our list of features that will be released to our New Host Mode here:

For now, please utilize the Old Host Mode to use the Announcements feature.

How is it please looking with the Announce box? It has been three months and the feature missing has depreciated the platform so much. What can we do to please get it back on asap? Can you perhaps allow us the old interface again – we really need it!

Hi ​@Carly from Slido  – it's has been a few months and with the option to switch to the old UI, we are out here hanging in cold as Institutional subscriber. We were using the announcement feature weekly, could you either enable us to go back to the old UI, or bring the feature back?

With our Announcements feature there’s a good chance it will be released during upcoming March, but we can’t promise anything. You can always check our Product News page for any updates.

In the meantime, you can still switch back to our Old Host Mode interface by clicking the question mark “?” button in the bottom left corner of your Slido account, as shown in the screenshot below.
