Can anonymous responses be tracked over time/across questions via "Participant ID"?

I’m having trouble understanding if I will need to ask participants to use their name/not be anonymous when joining/answering questions if I want to link response answers over time + across questions to a single responder?

 

I don’t care so much about knowing WHO exactly the responder is (i.e. I don’t really need to know their name per se), but I would like the ability to analyze after the fact observation such as “if Participants 1234, 555, and 789 answered “Choice B” on a question on day 1, they almost always chose “Choice D” on a related question on day 2” if that makes sense.

 

Can someone help me understand if this type of analysis would be possible just based on the unique “Participant ID” column I saw in the example exported data screenshot?  Or will that “Participant ID” change across days or across usages such that this is not possible?

When participants join your slido, each participant has their own randomly generated ID assigned. If they rejoin your slido from the same device (same browser), the system will track this ID and will recognize them as the same participant. If they would use different device, different browser or incognito window, they would be considered as new participant. 

The best way to track your participant’s replies would be to ask for participants names or emails, as described in this article. Afterwards, you can access your poll results in your Analytics tab and even export it into Excel sheet. 

Regarding your question about poll results analytics, currently we do not offer automatic option to analyze poll results. My apologies for that. However, I’ll be happy to forward it to our product team as a feature request.

When participants join your slido, each participant has their own randomly generated ID assigned. If they rejoin your slido from the same device (same browser), the system will track this ID and will recognize them as the same participant. If they would use different device, different browser or incognito window, they would be considered as new participant. 

The best way to track your participant’s replies would be to ask for participants names or emails, as described in this article. Afterwards, you can access your poll results in your Analytics tab and even export it into Excel sheet.

Thanks, I reviewed the linked articles and still have some questions about all the implications of turning on a requirement for participants to enter their names.

 

If we are planning on asking somewhere between 15 and 30 questions throughout an all-day event, would participants be required to enter their name every single time they respond to a poll or just the first time?  I definitely don’t want to require email addresses, that’s a lot of typing and totally unnecessary.  Ideally participants would only have to enter their names the first time as other wise having to do so every time could disrupt the fluid nature of how we’re hoping to collect poll responses live.

As long as they are joining from the same device, they would only be asked for the first time they joined.

If joining from a different device it’s possible they would be asked again.
