Slido is gradually rolling out a new user interface. If the below steps and visuals match what you are seeing within your account, then you are using the new interface and this article is for you. If not, please see this version.

Duplicating your slido is a great way to reuse the same polls, quizzes, and surveys with multiple audiences. And because duplicating also recreates your settings (including participant privacy and branding), it’s perfect for using single slido as a template.

Duplicate your slido

To duplicate a single slido:

  1. Go to your My Slidos page
  2. Find the slido you wish to duplicate and click on its three-dot menu
  3. Select Duplicate
  4. Set up your new slido’s name and code
  5. Click Duplicate once more
Duplicating a slido

A duplicated slido will use the same slido code as the original. And the duplicated dates will begin the day after the original slido ends. So if you set up the original slido to end on August 15th, the duplicated one will begin on August 16th.

However, you can always change these within your settings.

If your original slido dates have already passed, the duplicated dates will start with the current day.

What gets duplicated:

  • Settings
  • Multiple rooms
  • Poll questions
  • Slido code

What doesn't get duplicated:

Slidos from one-time plans cannot be duplicated unless you’ve purchased an additional one-time plan or an annual plan.

Hey Community!!

I am starting up my first quiz and I was wondering… I need to have three times the same question (or close). Can I duplicate question 1 into question 2?

Thanks

Hi @Jul-BCR,

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to duplicate questions within a quiz. At the moment, it is only possible to duplicate a whole quiz but not individual questions.

It is definitely on our radar for product improvements, however, we don’t have an ETA on this feature yet.

So, for now, copy + pasting the text is your best option.

Please let me know if there’s anything else that I can help with!

Can I duplicate other people’s survey?

Hi @yako,

No, at the moment you can’t duplicate other users’ slidos and surveys but if you are a co-host in someone else’s slido, you will find the polls from that slido in My templates. You can then add these polls to your own slidos.

Hope this helps! :)

We have a multi day event going on in Europe.  In each European City we are conducting (2) separate events; Day 1 is for Sellers and Day 2 is for Partners.  I created a new slido for Day 1.  I then duplicated the Day 1 slido for Sellers and changed the name and code for the day 2 event.

The Day 1 went fine and all our results were captured.  After Day 2, however, we are seeing our Day 2 results in our Day 1 slido.  My question to you - if we duplicate a slido, does it not become completely separate?  Is it an extension of the slido you duplicated?  OR - is this a product defect?  Please advise.

Hello @MelG

When you duplicate slidos the data should be kept separate. It can happen if the slidos had the same slido code that participants were joining to the wrong one but I cannot confirm this as I do not know your specifics.

Would you mind reaching out to support@slido.com for exact investigation? Our team will be able to confirm what happened.

I created a PowerPoint presentation and integrated a slido. The goal is for other trainers to use this presentation when they facilitate a training session in their respective regions. In this case, do I simply duplicate the slido, assign the slido per trainer, and share it to the trainer and grant access? Thanks!

Hey @Ronald Q ,

To be sure that the slidos are not being run during the same time and keeping the analytics/data separated, I would suggest duplicating the slido X amount of times, as well as the PPT Deck X amount of times, and integrating each slido to its own PPT presentation and inviting the specific co-host to the slido that way. So that each trainer has their own PPT with Slido for their own use.

Each co-host will need to have the PPT integration downloaded to whichever computer they will be using/presenting from.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Best,

Thank you @Carly from Slido! This is very helpful.

Documentation says that “settings” are duplicated. Does this include the sharing options? Because I seem to have to invite co-hosts every time I duplicate a slido.

Hey @bbmorrison ,

Only the settings for the slido will duplicate over, but the people you provide access to will need to be invited again. If you would need to use the same slido with the same people I would suggest re-using the same slido and resetting the polls each time.

Alternatively if you are on a an Enterprise or Institution plan you can utilize our Spaces feature which allows a group of people to automatically have access to any slido within that Space.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Best,
