New Slido for PowerPoint update crashing

I just installed the latest Slido for PowerPoint add-in update, and it keeps crashing PowerPoint. If I try to open a file with a Slido presentation added, the PowerPoint boot-up window comes up, then disappears and my file never opens. I can successfully open files without a Slido presentation, at which point the file I unsuccessfully tried to open will show up in the autosave alert column on the left. If I then try to open that autosaved file, it once more crashes PowerPoint. I can open all of my files fine if I disable the Slide add-in.

I have tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling the Slido add-in, and disabling and re-enabling it. I’m on a PC running Windows 10 Education version.

Hi @MPCJR

This problem should be resolved with a new add-in version releasing later this month. However in the meantime, use the below link to download a previous version which will work better for you.

The temporary fix appears to be to uninstall the current version. It is the recent update which has created the issue and reinstall version 1.11. A  new version is then expected at end of September to sort the problem - the support team gave me this link

Hey @Shannon F ,

Could you please submit a recording of your screen or screenshots to our support team directly? They can best troubleshoot from there. It’d also be very helpful to have the logs from the affected machine. You can see exactly how to capture those logs here: Windows or macOS

I have the same issue.  Difficult to take a screenshot because powerpoint will only open in safe mode.  When opening in full mode, the slido window appears on the side either as all white or all black and then the entire program shuts down.  Here is a screenshot of what it looks like just before it crashes.  I really need this to work ASAP as I was putting final touches on a presentation!

I can’t uninstall it because it keeps crashing. And I’m not an administrator I’m a user in a large organization. What a presentation for 400 people tomorrow!!!! 😡
