In our Slido participants will be asked to enter their email address before joining. Some users who tried to join get the message: Failed to send verification email! Please help!

That’s not ideal, so sorry to hear. Let’s help:
May you kindly share the #slido code, type of device, and the participants email address that had the error message to support@slido.com and we can investigate that further with you.
I would also ask the participant to clear their cache and ensure they’re on a stable internet connection before re-entering your Slido (event).
