As we approach the end of September, it's the perfect time to wrap up and share the latest updates from us at Slido. 🚀 🔛 New Slido becoming the default experienceWe’re excited to announce that starting November 7, the new Slido interface will be enabled by default for everyone! But don’t worry if you prefer the previous version, you’ll still have a few months to switch back if you need more time to adjust. To help with the transition, we’re running regular training sessions, so don’t miss out on this chance to get up to speed!💬 Have a better overview of your Q&A with two-sided layoutWe’ve revamped the Q&A layout to make it easier for hosts to manage questions. With Moderation enabled, you can now see a 50:50 split between incoming (In review) and approved questions, with quick access to options like Archive, Labels, and Q&A sorting. Slido's Switcher app will be sunsetting in January 2025

We released the Switcher app in 2017 with the goal of enhancing the presentation experience by allowing seamless switching between Slido and any presentation. Slido Switcher addressed the need for a smooth and uninterrupted way to display polls and Q&A during events, using another device as a remote control. This innovation aimed to make it easier for presenters to engage with their audience without disrupting the flow of their presentations. With all that being said and after careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue the Slido Switcher app for the following reasons:Low usage: While we recognize the value it brings to regular users, the Switcher app is one of our lesser-used features. Its functionality is already fully covered by our PowerPoint and Google Slides integrations. Outdated technology: Slido is currently transitioning to a new, more intuitive interface while also being completely revamped on the backend. Continuing to support the Switcher app would go again

New Slido interface feature continuity

Slido’s new interface was designed with ease of use and efficiency at the forefront. The core functionalities (polling and Q&A) are stronger, quicker, and more intuitive than ever. However, this does mean that a few features had to be deprecated. See below for the most up-to-date details about Slido’s feature continuity. In this article:Features returning in the future Features that may return Features leaving permanently Features returning in the future The new interface will become the default for all users on November 7th, 2024 – with the ability to switch to the old interface remaining for some time. When you open your slido on this day, you’ll see our fresh, user-friendly layout. New Slido interfaceHow long can I switch back to the old interface?We understand that adapting to changes can take a bit of time. That’s why you’ll still be able to switch back to the old interface for a couple of months. Delete or reset multiple polls

Hey team - can I reset or delete more than one poll at a time in the new Slido interface? Sometimes I want to delete multiple polls or reset a few of the interactions. I used to do this with ease in the old Slido, but can’t find where to do it in the new interface. Am I missing something? Or is that completely gone? Can I do any bulk actions with polls?

We’ve redesigned how you create and manage Slido as a host, with a complete new look. The new interface is rolling out gradually and so you might notice a few changes. But don’t worry! Slido’s new interface will become the default for all users on Nov. 7th. To help during this transition phase, we’re including the option to switch back to the old interface. If for some reason you’d like to switch to using old Slido, you can do so via the help widget in the bottom left corner. Here you’ll see the option to Switch to old Slido. How to switch to old Slido Keep in mind that you will eventually be permanently switched to the new interface. However, we’ll give you plenty of notice.

Introducing Required questions in Surveys 🎉

You can now make questions mandatory to answer when sharing Surveys with your audience! Here’s how you can set it up in Slido admin 👉Go to your Polls and open up or create a Survey. On the right hand side, simply toggle on Required question for those questions that you’d like to make mandatory for your participants to answer. Activate the Survey and share your event or the link to the Survey with your audience. And here’s what your audience will see 👉If someone tries to submit the survey while skipping required questions, Slido will automatically highlight the ones that are mandatory in red and won’t let them send their answers until all of them are filled in. That’s it! You can pick and choose which questions you’d like to make mandatory to answer, or even make all of them required. We’re excited to share recent updates to Slido for Microsoft Teams which helps make the experience better for both hosts and participants. Enlarged layout for pre-meeting preparationPreparation for your meeting with Slido in the Teams calendar is now more intuitive and organized. You can add your interactions from the left sidebar, and create, edit and preview the Slido content in the main area. Preparing Slido in Teams calendar Improved voting experienceWhen you launch or deactivate a poll, a chat notification is sent to the meeting chat. Your participants can vote on an active poll after clicking the Send your vote button, which opens the Slido sidebar. These chat notifications replace the previous experience using pop-ups.
