Slido participant mode not loading in China

Users in mainland China have reported issues with Slido’s participant mode since mid-December. Since then, our team has investigated the situation in collaboration with our infrastructure host (AWS). We’ve confirmed that no recent configuration changes on our end could have caused this behavior – and it appears the root cause is related to a block from China’s mobile carriers. We have limited influence over the network environment in China, but we are doing everything within our power to address the issue alongside our AWS partners. It has been reported that most people are able to access Slido using company networks and that the issue is mostly related to local networks. While we explore on our side, it may also be beneficial to reach out to your mobile provider directly to request assistance The use of company networks is the best recommendation we can provide at this time, but we will provide updates here as we have them.

Slido's Switcher app was sunsetted in January 2025

We released the Switcher app in 2017 with the goal of enhancing the presentation experience by allowing seamless switching between Slido and any presentation. Slido Switcher addressed the need for a smooth and uninterrupted way to display polls and Q&A during events – by using another device as a remote control. This innovation aimed to make it easier for presenters to engage with their audience without disrupting the flow of their presentations. With that being said and after careful consideration, we decided to discontinue the Slido Switcher app for the following reasons:Low usage: While we recognize the value it brought to regular users, the Switcher app was one of our lesser-used features. Its functionality is fully covered by our PowerPoint and Google Slides integrations.   Outdated technology: Slido has transitioned to a new, more intuitive interface and has been completely revamped on the backend. Continuing to support the Switcher app would go against our commitment to prov

Switch your Slido interface

Slido’s new interface is now available for all users. However for a time, we’re including the option to switch back to the old interface. If for some reason you’d like to switch to using old Slido, you can do so via the help widget in the bottom left corner. Here you’ll see the option to Switch to old Slido. How to switch to old Slido Keep in mind that you will eventually be permanently switched to the new interface. However, we’ll give you plenty of notice.

 We’ve redesigned how you create and manage Slido as a host, with a complete new look. The new interface is rolling out gradually and so you might notice a few changes. New Slido interface FAQs

Slido’s new interface is now available for everyone 🚀 Although it may look a bit different, its design provides an easier, quicker, and more intuitive experience. See below for answers to the most common questions regarding the changes. Where do I create my polls? How do I save my polls? Where is my Q&A? What is the control bar for? How do I adjust my quiz timer? Can I still test my Slido as a participant? Has the participant experience changed? Does new Slido have all the same features? Can I switch back to the old Slido interface? Where can I find help?  Where do I create my polls?All polls and Q&A are now listed under My interactions on the left side. Create your polls by selecting the + Add option and choosing your poll type. Create your polls  How do I save my polls?Slido polls now save automatically after a few seconds. You can also save immediately by hitting return – or by clicking anywhere outside of the text box.  Polls save automatically Surveys are a bit different.

We are so impressed by how creative you all are in using Slido in meetings! That's why we'd like to ask you for help.Could you share your tips on how to use Slido during internal company meetings (ideally smaller team meetings)? The tips can be about your use case, facilitation, or meeting design.Here are three questions we'd love you to answer:How do you design your internal team meetings with Slido? Sunsetting Slido's Slack integration: Here's why and what's next

We're announcing today that we'll be turning off our Slack integration on November 30th. Two years ago, we launched our Slack app to make it easier for our users to collect questions without the need to leave Slack.I know that for some of you, the news may come as a surprise. Let me share how we came to this decision and what might come next. 🌇 Why we’re sunsetting our Slack integrationWith this integration, we wanted to bring Slido closer to where you work. Despite our best efforts, it missed the mark in a few ways:The feature enables users only to collect questions or ideas. If they want team members to upvote them, they have to leave Slack and do it in a browser.
