Slido is gradually rolling out a new user interface. If the below steps and visuals match what you are seeing within your account, then you are using the old interface and this article is for you. If not, please see this version.

When you run a meeting or a conference with people joining remotely, Slido allows you to make them part of the conversation. Many videos and live streaming services such as Vimeo, YouTube, Facebook Live, and others provide an iframe link that can be easily embedded into your event.

Available in our Professional plan and higher.

Remote participants simply enter your Slido event (via event # or event link) to see both live video and Slido polls, ideas, and questions.

  2. Select Integrations
  3. Toggle on Live video
  4. Enter your video link (embed code)

To edit or remove your embed link, click the three vertical dots:

Any video with HTTPS embed code can be embedded in Slido.

Standard requirements for the embed code

The video link for embedding can be usually found in "share or "embed" sections provided for your live video service. It usually looks similar to this:

<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/N5YHQ0wj-JE" width="100%" height="100%"></iframe>

*This is an example link. Please use the link for the video you wish to embed

For the link to work well:

  • it must contain only the iframe tag, e.g. <iframe src="https://page.com"> </iframe>
  • any kind of <script> or <div> tags have to be removed
  • make sure your link starts with https://

Integrate Slido with Vimeo, Facebook Live, YouTube, Twitch and Vidcast

To integrate live video with Slido, use the iframe code to embed the video. You can use any live video service that provides an embed code. Vidcast is an option for those asynchronous moments captured for your participants.

No domain is restricted. Using <iframe src="https://allhands.meeting"> automatically works.

Embed Vidcast to Slido

  2. Find your video and click on it. Select the Share Video option from the top right, then select embed.
  3. Copy the link and paste it into Slido

When embedding your Vidcast, make sure to check the Permissions tab that Open Link is selected from the dropdown. This is so the video is discoverable and can be viewed by your participants.

Embed Twitch to Slido

Twitch channels allow for both recorded and live content. This can be especially useful if you’d like to achieve multiple streams in a single Slido event.

Once you obtain the embed link for your Twitch video through the Share button, you must do one little edit before pasting it to Slido. Please replace the www.example.com part of the code with app.sli.do.

Here’s an example of the embed link before and after the edit:

Before:

<iframe src="https://player.twitch.tv/?channel=experimental_sound_studio&parent=www.example.com" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" scrolling="no" height="378" width="620"></iframe>

After:

<iframe src="https://player.twitch.tv/?channel=experimental_sound_studio&parent=app.sli.do" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" scrolling="no" height="378" width="620"></iframe>

Useful tips:

  • Tip 1: Embed Slido event into your website
If you wish to embed your Slido event together with the integrated video into your website, we recommend embedding the two separately in order to avoid any potential technical issues.

  • Tip 2: Invite your participants to engage with your Slido event
There are three ways of how your participants can enter the event: via an event code, event link, or QR code. You can share any of them with your participants via email, social media, or your preferred tool. Our Share a link to your event article tells you more.
