Assistance with Resetting Slido Statistics Without Duplicating Events

Dear Slido Community Support Team,

We have been using Slido for quite some time, and it has consistently met our needs. Typically, before every event we reset the results and Q&A, and the platform works seamlessly.

However, during a recent event with over 400 participants spanning five days, we encountered an issue where it shows that we have exceeded the 1,000 participant limit. It appears that Slido registers each unique IP as a new participant, which led to this restriction. To address this, we duplicated the event and created a new one, but this resulted in multiple event links and fragmented statistical data, making post-event analysis challenging.

Given our event structure, we use a single event containing over 50 polls, which are organized into different sessions. Duplicating events merges all questions and disrupts the arrangement of our polls as we still prefer to use the old platform as the new platform does not have session separation.

We would like to know if there is a way to reset events and delete all user data without affecting the event structure, polls, and sessions. This would allow us to continue using the same event without exceeding the participant limit while maintaining data integrity.

Your support and guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Hi @CBT,

When you mention "a single event containing over 50 polls, organised into different sessions," are you using the Multiple Rooms feature? If so, this feature allows you to create separate 'rooms' within Slido, each with its own polling and Q&A.

For event lasting up to 7 consecutive days, you can add multiple rooms to a single session, but total number of participants can't exceed your plan's limit. So, anyone joining on a single device counts as one participant, which can help you manage participant numbers in total effectively.

Duplicating a session shouldn't change its structure. Additionally, you can reset your polls and delete questions like this.

I hope this helps! If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@slido.com 😊

Dear Sophia,

Thank you for your prompt response.

About the single event, 1st we still use the “Old Interface” as it allows us to organize the whole event in a session mode (Not rooms) as shown in Screenshot 1 below. This way, every time we have a new event of the same nature, we simply reset all questions results and Q&A data instead of duplicating the event. We were using this approach over the past few years without any issues, as in every event we have no more than 400 participants. This issue of limited number only happening recently, as it seems that the system accumulate all number of participants even after reseting all questions.

When we tried the “New Interface”, we found that this “sessions” option is not there, and the questions are mixed up. Which makes it difficult to go and rearrange all the questions every time we run an event especially that we have many questions, exercises, etc.

Although duplicating events work, but it is not the best option as we usually have more than 50 questions for each event, and sorting them manually not very effective as the questions mixed up every time the admin reload the page.

We hope the issue is very clear now, and we hope to find a good solution.

Best Regards.

Abdulrahman

Hi @CBT 👋

Thank you for additional information. When you reset poll results, it won't reset the participant limit. To avoid receiving a message about exceeding the participant limit, you'll need to duplicate the slido session.

Additionally, the Session feature will not be available in the New Host mode. To stay updated on which features are being transitioned and which are not, we've created this helpful article.

I hope this helps 😊
