Who counts as a participant?

Hi all,

I’m organizing an event of 2 days with 80 participants each and multiple sessions. Hence, the intention is to buy either the engage or the professional account. However, I am worried about the limitation of participants: what do you mean with it? Given the several sessions we’ll host, these 80+80 participants would access to the Sli.do event multiple times (probably with same device). Log in is not required for accessing to sli.do event’s, so I’m wondering how you count participants.

Thanks for understanding,

Best.

Hi @Pietro AN,

Participants are counted as every device that accesses your Slido event. For example if one person joins from their phone and then later from a laptop, it’ll be counted as 2 participants. However, if a person joins from their phone multiple times, it’ll only count them as one participant.

You’re right, there’s no need to log in to Slido as a participant. You only need an event code to get in.

Please let me know if my explanation makes sense or if you need any more help!

Hi, does browser type on the device matter?

e.g. logging in on safari then on chrome - does that count as 2 different participants?

Hey @nawee ,

Joining the event from 2 different browsers will register as 2 separate participants.

Hi,

If I invite individual collaborators to help as admin, do they count as part of the 100 participants?

Thanks

Hey @StaceyP ,

Guest Collaborators do not count towards the Participant Limits as they have moderator access, if they were to join the event as a Participant, then they would count towards that limit.

In the event that we have 300 over ppl attending an event, and the Slido Basic Plan only allows 100 participants per time - can the first 100 participants enter their Q&A input, and close the tab to allow the next 100 participants to enter?

Hey @Kreiyah ,

The 100 Participant limit is the total Joined Number of Participants, so when 100 people join, the Slido counts them as unique participants and when they close out their browser any new people joining will be counted as a unique participant in addition to them. Does this make sense?

I would suggest purchasing a One-time Plan for the Engage Plan as it allows up to 200 participants assuming not all 300 people will all join and ask questions.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi! I’m running a 2 day conference next week with 70 people and wanted to purchase the one-time engagement plan. The idea is to use QR codes throughout the two days to interact with the same 70 people and get their feedback along the way.

As they will be the same people using the same “device”, does that count as overall 70 people, no matter how many QR codes each person scans? What happens if they close their browser window and scan again? Thanks!

As a follow up to my question above: if I create 4 Slido events (each with a different QR) for participants to scan and answer 1 question on, this still counts as 70 participants right? It wouldn’t be 70x4? And I could have the 4 polls running simultaneously?

Hey @Dom_user_1 ,

Thanks for your questions.

If the participants join from their same device/browser/IP address then they will be able to enter the Slido without increasing the number of Joined Participants.

With the Engage One-Time Plan, you are allowed 200 Participants total to join the event.

Creating 4 Unique Slidos, would have their own QR code, and also their own Participant count. If you are purchasing a One-Time Plan, it will only be applied to a single Slido though.

If you would want 4 polls active at once, I would suggest using the Survey option rather than creating 4 separate Slido’s with 4 different QR codes to make it easier on the participants.

Let us know if this helps or if you have any other questions.

Best,
