Slido has replaced the built-in polling and Q&A features in the unified Webex Suite meeting platform. This article explains how Slido polling and Q&A works within Webex and compares it with the former Webex polling/Q&A solutions.

See the differences below in:

To start, here’s how you can launch Slido in the Webex Suite meeting platform:

  1. In your meeting or webinar, click the three dots > Slido (polling and Q&A)
  2. Alternatively, go to Apps > Slido
  3. Click create a new slido or select an existing one

Then, add Slido polls, quizzes, surveys and Q&A.

Follow our step-by-step tutorial to see how to use Slido in Webex. Or check out this video.

Polling

Whether you want to prepare your polls beforehand or during the Webex meeting or webinar, you can do so in the Slido sidebar via the Add interaction button.

Unlike in Webex polling, you can create multiple Slido polls, quizzes, and surveys with the paid Webex license.

Slido offers the same poll types as the original Webex options, plus a lot more. In addition to multiple choice and open text polls, you can choose any other Slido poll type

  • Ranking
  • Quiz

Please note that your downloaded Webex polls in the ATP format cannot be uploaded to Slido, but you can create your polls in Slido and then reuse them. Scroll down to the FAQ section of this article to see how.

Running polls before, during, and after the meeting

With Slido, you can view a list of all your polls, quizzes, and surveys in the sidebar – then choose the one you wish to activate for your participants.

During your meeting or webinar, start your polls at any moment and decide to either temporarily hide the results or reveal them to the audience as the votes come in.

To collect poll responses in advance or feedback after the meeting is over, send out the your slido’s joining link via Webex, email, or other internal tools. You can find the link in the Slido sidebar menu.

Q&A

Engage your audience with a Slido Q&A during a Webex meeting or webinar simply by clicking Add interaction button > Audience Q&A. This opens Q&A for everyone to send in their questions.

During the meeting, your audience can ask questions via the Webex sidebar. You can review the incoming questions before they appear live for your audience, or turn on participant replies and question labels to let them comment on and assign questions to speakers. Highlighting a question currently being answered helps your participants to stay on track. Once you’re done with a question, mark it as answered or archive it.

With Slido, your attendees can upvote questions submitted by others, which helps you to categorize and address questions based on their popularity.

Security and privacy settings

Every Slido you create in Webex is protected by a passcode that will be required by anyone using Slido outside of Webex. Participants joining Slido from a Webex meeting are automatically logged in without a need to enter a passcode or go through SSO.

By default, your Participant Privacy is set to Named by default, which means that unless your audience decides to switch to anonymous, they’ll respond to polls and ask questions with their name.

For cases when individual responses need to be recorded, select the Always require name option and then download the polls per user results.

Analytics

Your polling and Q&A data are accessible anytime via Slido Analytics. You can see how many participants interacted with your polls and Q&A, plus view or download your results.

You can download your stats directly from the Webex meeting or webinar through the menu. Or you can log in to slido.com, select your slido, and click the Analytics tab.

Here are the Analytics options:

  • Microsoft Excel export
  • PDF export
  • Google Sheets export
  • Share Analytics summary
  • (Questions) Sentiment
  • Data API / Export

Integrations

You can add Slido into your PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation to seamlessly display Q&A and activate your polls for your audience as you progress through your slides.

Make sure you have the same slido added to both your slide deck and Webex, then screen share your presentation during the meeting and you’re all set!
