March flew by in a flash, so it's time to look back at the latest updates we've introduced this month. As we continue to roll out the features you've been waiting for in the new Host mode, there are only a few left to add! Plus, we've updated the Slido placeholder slide for PowerPoint on macOS.
🎛️ Host mode improvements before May 27
As we prepare to fully switch to the current Host mode on May 27, we want to share some useful details about what to expect in the coming weeks. If you're still using the previous Host mode, this information is especially helpful for you:
💡 Poll templates are back—better than ever!
If you liked our previous Poll templates, you'll love them in the new Host mode! 💚 They've come back improved and with a fresh look, helping you create polls faster and find inspiration for various meeting types at any stage.
Here’s what’s new:
- Reorganized categories
- Most popular category
- Poll type filter
- Instant search
- Preview screen

🥶 Freeze a question during Q&A
Q&A moderation just got smoother! No more missing or jumping questions when the order changes due to upvotes. Simply hover over a question's control bar to keep it in place, making it easier to read or highlight, even as other questions move around. To help you focus, the background questions will appear blurred.

The freeze effect stays active while you hover or use the three-dot menu for editing or other actions, and disappears shortly after, letting questions move normally again.
🔮 Want to know what’s coming next?
In the meantime, our product team has been working hard to bring back the rest of the feature continuity list:
- Hide votes and lock voting: In poll interaction card
- Convert a poll into a survey: With one click
- Q&A search by keywords: In both pending and live questions
- Announcements: With improved functionality #staytuned
- My previous polls library: Easily reuse polls
- Filter Q&A by Label option: In Present mode
📥 Updates in Slido for PowerPoint
The latest Slido for PowerPoint on macOS v1.7.0 includes a new placeholder slide design and alerts users during installation if PowerPoint add-ins are disabled by the system administrator. In such cases, Slido won't be available to use immediately.

With Slido for PowerPoint on Windows v1.15.0, we're also introducing the new design for Slido placeholder slides and resolving an important issue.
- We've fixed a problem where Local Storage for the Chromium browser caused product notifications to pop up every time PowerPoint was restarted, ensuring that settings are now saved correctly.
Please note that if you use multiple screens with different scaling settings and have several PowerPoint windows open, you might experience sidebar scaling issues. This depends on which screen the PowerPoint window was last on. Although it's not common, we're actively working on a solution.
