Considering Higher-tier Plan for Word Cloud Color Customization

Hello Slido team or anyone, really! I’m seriously considering upgrading to a higher-tier slido plan solely for word cloud color customization, but I want to confirm how it works before purchasing.

  • Does the higher-tier plan allow me to customize word colors based on vote levels (e.g., more frequent words get specific colors)?
  • Or are the words simply colored randomly within the theme colors?
  • and if customization is possible, how do I set it up?

Would love to hear from anyone who has used it! Thanks guys.

Hi @Keith Ngô,

I’m happy to help!

The colors in the word cloud are actually not customizable and the colors themselves are automatically assigned by the system. It’s good to know, though, that this functionality is something that interests you. I can’t guarantee anything, but I’ll gladly pass along to our product teams as feedback 💪

Hi Sophia! Thank you for your reply.

Assigned by the system automatically, by that means, will it ensures all of the words to be visible? For example if my team choose a certain color for our theme, how to make sure the color that we choose will safely applied to all of the word cloud levels (all words will be readable without having any contrast issue).

Thank you again🙂

Hello @Keith Ngô

The colors are automatically added by Slido according to the size of the words. However, if you change your branding color, the colors of the words in Word Cloud will adapt to your branding colors, to ensure they are displayed visibly and without contrast issues.

It is not possible to manually choose colors of your Word Cloud, my apologies. But you can always test it from participant and also present mode beforehand, to ensure everything will be displayed according to your expectations :)

I hope this helps.

Kindly,

Thank you for the clarification! So, does this mean that certain words might have different colors to maintain contrast? For example, would lighter-colored words have a darker-tinted background compared to other words? Also, if I notice a word with low contrast after testing, would I need to contact your team to adjust it?

Sorry to keep asking more questions, appreciate the quick response from the Slido team!

Hello @Keith Ngô

The color of the words will adapt to your branding colors, and it will also depend on the size of the word. Each size will have different color assigned, and the size of a certain word depends on number of times it has been submitted by participants (the more frequently it gets submitted, the bigger it will appear).

As you can see in my example screenshot, I customized my branding into blue and violet colors. Thus the words in my Word Cloud adapted to them. Also each size of the word has different color.

I’m also attaching our Community article about Word Cloud that might provide more information.

I hope this provides more clarity :)

Kindly,
