Can a slido initiator go to participant mode using a mobile phone?

Yes, absolutely. As a host, you can test your slido via the participant mode in your admin or via your own mobile phone. Simply scan the QR code of your slido, or go to www.slido.com and enter your #slidocode into the Joining as a participant? bar.

Sorry, I think my question was not clear. I am aware that using a pc, I can switch from host mode to participant mode via my admin.

My situation is - I set up a Slido Q&A on my pc at home ahead of an event. I later go to the event without my pc. If I sign in to my Slido as host on my mobile phone, there seems to be no way for me to switch in and out of participant mode like I could do on the pc. Is that correct?  I have to sign out, scan the QR code to log in as participant to do what any participant can do, ie ask questions, then if I want to, say, end the Q&A session, I have log out of the slido session and sign in with my host credentials? Is that correct? Or have I missed something? Thanks.

That is correct, you would need to log into your host account to interact as host and then either scan the QR code or enter the slido code at slido.com to interact as a participant.
