Family Feud game??

I’m new to Slido - I’m curious if Slido could be used for a Live Virtual Family Feud type situation. My idea is that on a Zoom call, i’d ask a group of 300 people to answer a Family Feud style question where there will be multiple “top” answers (ex. Name foods that go with peanut butter.)  Once everyone has answered, i’d show the poll, revealing the top answers….. and then i’d like to take the names of anyone that answered with the top answer into a Wheel of Names to spin for a prize.

So my question is:

  1. If the Slido question has many of the same answers (like the question above), does Slido have the capability to group same responses and show percentages or # of responses? (and if so, will the presenter be able to pull the names of the most popular answer?)

Hi @jenny raines

That sounds like such a fun idea, I love the Family Feud style! At the moment, there are a few limitations to be aware of:

  • The closest format in Slido is the word cloud poll, where duplicate answers are grouped automatically. The more times an answer is submitted, the larger it appears on the screen.

  • There isn’t currently a way to preload “top answers” in advance like in Family Feud.

  • Slido doesn’t show the names of people who submitted a specific answer in real time. However, you can export a report afterward to see who answered what, and then manually put those names into your prize wheel.

It’s definitely possible to create something close to what you’re describing, but it would take a bit of manual work after the poll results are in.

I’ll also pass this along to our product team as feedback, it’s a really creative use case!
