Hi
I’m afraid that copy & pasting from an Excel sheet doesn’t work because the copied data will be regarded as cells which can’t be recognized in Slido. That said, if you manage to have the data as plain text, this does work. You can, for instance, have the answers typed as a list in some text editor and then copy & paste them into a multiple choice poll.
I’ve attached a quick GIF to show how it works.

Hope this helps at least a bit and thank you for the suggestion.

I want to create a Slido survey by importing it from a Excel file, so I dont have to copy each question and its options individually, is it possible?

Hi
Unfortunately, it’s currently not possible to import data from Excel to Slido.
You’ll have to copy+paste all the questions manually.
We realize that this is not a great experience, especially with larger surveys! This feature is on our roadmap but we don’t have a timeline available for it just yet.
I’ll make sure to keep you updated!
Please let me know if there’s anything else that I can help you with in the meantime.

Good afternoon,
I just wanted to ask if it is possible to import previously created google forms questionnaires into slido or do we have to start from scratch?
Many thanks,
Ross

I realize that it’s not the best experience, especially with a large number of questions, but you’ll need to copy & paste your data manually for now.
I’ll make sure to pass this as a feature request to out Product Team and update this thread with any news about potential implementation timelines.
Please let me know if there’s anything else that I can help you with in the meantime!

Any updates on this feature? It's super important and it should be way up in the roadmap!

Hey
This feature of being able to upload your poll questions and options to Slido from an excel sheet or other type of data sheet is not currently on our roadmap.
To stay up to date with each months feature updates/released please check out our Product News. If and when this feature is introduced to Slido it will be shared to those newsletters.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

Dear Slido team,
I wanted to reach out and emphasize the importance for Slido users to have the capability to import csv/markdown files.
As an entrepreneur (and one of your clients), we maintain databases of questions that we utilize across various platforms such as Slido, Quizlet, Notion, etc. Having to manually copy and paste these questions is not only time-consuming but also makes me consider exploring other similar services.
I genuinely appreciate and admire what Slido offers, which is why I've taken the time to share this feedback with you. I believe this feature would greatly enhance the user experience.
Warm regards,
Hadrien

Hey
Thank you for the details in your message!
I have checked with the team and we don’t have plans for this in the foreseeable future, but if you would like to reach out and become part of a User Research call to contact support@slido.com around this topic we would be happy to set something up.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

I agree with Hadrien Rose,
Interacting with Slido in a programmatic, or at least copy & paste style way would save a lot of time. I feel like its going into the same direction as discussed in →
There has to be a lot on slidos backlog if this isnt yet considered as highly important invest into the future. Working with Cisco and Webex for over a decade, it feels unnatural to me, that i cant interact with such a tool based on whatever SDK or API - or as discussed here via CSV import.
Loving the tool, but as cool as it is for single events- its just stressful for doing it individually for many.
All the best

Hey
Thanks for sharing additional feedback, we will be sure to pass this to the team for consideration.
As a workaround, any polls you previously input to Slido will be stored in your My Polls/Templates for easy addition to any new slidos you create without having to re-type everything manually.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

Dear Slido Team.,
I really love your product, but being able to copy questions from one event to another, or to have the chance to create one large pool of questions that can be reused would be absolutely amazing. Would be great if this could be taken into consideration again.
Cheers

Hello
In your case what could work is creating one Slido with all of your polls. And then you could just keep duplicating the same Slido session and delete the polls that you don’t need.
Here is a guide showing how to duplicate Slido:
