Slido is gradually rolling out a new user interface. If the below steps and visuals match what you are seeing within your account, then you are using the old interface and this article is for you. If not, please see this version.
The most common way for your audience to join an event is by entering the customizable #eventcode at www.slido.com. This is possible to do only during the dates you set up for your event.
Your participants can also join the event using either the event link or QR code, granting them instant access. This can be useful especially for crowdsourcing questions or poll votes before your meeting, event, class, or webinar starts.
You can then paste the event link, QR code, or event code into your calendar invitation, include it in your email, or post it to your team messaging app such as Slack or Microsoft Teams.
We recommend customizing your event code to something short, simple, and easy to remember.
Go to the Share button to easily copy your event link or download the QR code:
- Log in to your Slido account and select your event
- Navigate to the Share button in the upper right corner
- Select your option
If you need somebody to help you moderate questions or activate polls, you can share access to your event with them.
Useful tips:
- Tip 1: Use our template to invite people to join a Slido event
Need inspiration for an invitation email? Here's a template you can use.
- Tip 2: Introduce Slido and run a warm-up poll
To drive interaction during your event, introduce Slido at the very beginning of your meeting, conference, class, or webinar. and run a fun warm-up poll to get your audience to participate. They will more likely submit their votes and ask their own questions later on.
- Tip 3: Don't forget to open Present mode during your event
When your event takes place, make sure that you're displaying Slido Present mode in fullscreen to the audience. It is not only the main way of visually representing questions and poll results, your #eventcode and QR code are displayed there as well. Click the green button in your event to open it.
While you're logged in to your account, you can control everything directly from Present mode.
