As a Windows administrator, you can install Slido for PowerPoint using our MSI file and do a bulk install for users in your organization. With available command line parameters, you can turn off update notifications for the end users or execute a silent installation.

System requirements
We only support PowerPoint versions with the latest security and quality updates installed. You need to meet the following system requirements to install Slido for PowerPoint using our MSI file:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 or later with October 2024 updates applied (32 or 64-bit)
- Windows 10 22H2 and later (64-bit)
- .NET Framework 4.8
- User Account Control is enabled
We support Microsoft Office for desktop in the Click-to-Run edition. Using PowerPoint installer in the Microsoft Store edition requires version 2201 or newer.
In general, we recommend Windows 10 or 11 with the latest updates applied. Slido for PowerPoint will also work on Windows 10 21H2 Enterprise editions.

Installing Slido for PowerPoint on Windows
For bulk installations, you can use the MSI file with a third-party distribution software to bulk install Slido for PowerPoint to selected users or computers.
Administrator permissions are required, as this is a per machine installation.
Controlling Slido updates on Windows
Slido for PowerPoint automatically checks for updates and offers them to the user.
To control how and when updates are installed on your system, you can configure Slido for PowerPoint to not check for updates. You can then use your endpoint management software to deliver updates at preferred times.
Update checks can be disabled for both Basic and Admin installations.
Control updates using Group Policy Objects
Slido for PowerPoint can be configured using Group Policy Objects. You can import our administrative template files into your Central Store – then set the Slido for PowerPoint configuration directly from the Group Policy Objects console.

Control updates using Registry keys
If your endpoint management software does not support the administrative templates files (ADMX), you can use this registry key to disable update checks:

When DisableUpdateChecks is set to 1, Slido for PowerPoint will not show notifications for users to update to the new Slido Add-in version.
Control updates at the time of installation
When installing Slido for PowerPoint using the MSI installer, you can add the following command line parameter to disable update checks and prevent users from updating the Add-in to have full control over the update process.

Example: msiexec /i C:\SlidoAdmin_x64_v1.0.0.msi DISABLE_UPDATE_CHECKS=1
Where “C:\SlidoAdmin_x64_v1.0.0.msi” is the path to the MSI file downloaded to the computer.
Silent installation
We support silent installation and all the other standard Windows Installer parameters (msiexec.exe) from the command line.
Example: msiexec /i C:\SlidoAdmin_x64_v1.0.0.msi /quiet
Installing updates
We regularly release updates to Slido for PowerPoint but the major updates happen once in a quarter. To install the latest version of the Add-in, you can always find it on the link shared in the download section.
To find out what the latest version number is, you can visit slido.com/powerpoint and compare it by checking the original MSI download file stored on your computer.
Configuring EDM solutions
If you are using endpoint device management (EDM) solutions with antimalware components, they may prevent Slido for PowerPoint from operating correctly.
Ensure your antimalware software allows Slido for PowerPoint to run the embedded browser process name “CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe” which is installed with Slido.

Note that the ‘*’ (star) in the path for basic installers is important. The exact configuration can vary based on your EDM solution.
Slido digital signatures
We digitally sign our binary files using authenticode certificates. Signed files include the Slido.exe application, our libraries like SlidoAddin.dll, and the 3rd party components installed with Slido for PowerPoint.
We use two certificates to sign the files. You can use these details to enable running Slido on your system:
