As a Google Workspace administrator, you can install the Slido for Google Slides add-on for your entire organization. For the best experience, we recommend force installing the Slido chrome extension as well.
The below guide covers both installations performed directly from your Google Workspace admin environment.
This guide is for a Google Workspace administrator to install Slido for Google Slides for all users within their organization. To add Slido for Google Slides on an individual basis, simply install it from the Workspace Marketplace.

*The Slido Player is Slido’s presenting solution and is part of the add-on. When Slido’s chrome extension is not added, this player is what is used to present your slides. When Slido’s chrome extension is added, the native Google Slides player is used with Slido integrated into it.
Slido for Google Slides Installation
Integrating Slido into Google Slides allows users to leverage Slido’s polling and Q&A platform directly into their presentations. Follow the below steps to perform the installation for all users within your organization.

Getting started
- Make sure you’ve verified your domain. This will ensure that no one else can use your same domain in an alternate Google Workspace.
- If you plan to install the add-on for a select group of users, you’ll need to first organize the users into organizational units or access groups. When installing the add-on, you’ll have the option to select these specific units or groups.
Installation
- Open up your Admin console and select Menu > Apps > Google Workspace Marketplace apps > Apps list
- Click Install app
- Search for and click on the Slido app
- Click Admin install > Continue (Note that the Individual install option is for installing an app on your administrator account only)
- Review the data access requirements, developer terms, and developer policies
- If installing the Slido app for everyone at your organization, select that option and click Finish
- If installing for only Certain groups and organizational units, select that option, specify which groups or units, and then click Finish
Change who the Slido add-on is installed for
If ever needed, you can uninstall the Slido add-on for your entire organization. But you can also make changes to which units or groups have access. To do so, follow the below steps:
- Open up your Admin console and select Menu > Apps > Google Workspace Marketplace apps > Apps list
- Search for and click on the Slido app in the Domain Installed Apps tab
- Click View organizational units and groups
- Find your organizational units and groups listed on the left and click on whichever one you’d like to manage access for
- Select whether the Slido app is installed (On) or not (Off) and click Save or Override
Slido Chrome Extension Installation
The Chrome extension is not required, but it ensures that users’ animations, transitions, videos and GIFs all work well when paired with Slido.

Getting started
- To make settings for a specific group of users or enrolled Chrome browsers, put the user accounts or browsers in a group or organizational unit. Only user accounts, not browsers, can be added to groups.
- To apply settings for Chrome browser users on Windows, Mac, or Linux computers, turn on Chrome browser management for the organizational unit that they belong to.
- Note that there is a limit of 500 for the total number of apps times the number of groups.
Installation
These steps assume you're familiar with configuring Chrome settings in your Admin console
- Double-check that you’re properly signed in to your administrator account.
- In the Admin console, go to Menu > Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions. The Overview page will open by default.
**If you’re using Chrome Browser Cloud Management, go to Menu > Chrome browser > Apps & extensions.
- At the top, click the type of app or extension you want to automatically install:
- Users & browsers—For users who sign in with a managed Google Account on any device, and for enrolled browsers.
- Managed guest sessions—For users who sign in to a managed guest session on a managed ChromeOS device.
- On the left, choose who you want to automatically install the app for:
- Users & browsers—To apply the setting to all users and browsers, leave the top organizational unit selected. Otherwise, select a child organizational unit or group.
- Managed guest sessions—To apply the setting to all users, leave the top organizational unit selected. Otherwise, select a child organizational unit.
- Search and find the Slido Chrome extension.
- In the panel that opens on the right, under Installation policy, choose Force install or Force install + pin to ChromeOS taskbar.
- Click Save. If you configured an organizational unit or group, you might be able to either Inherit or Override a parent organizational unit, or Unset a group.
Verify extensions are pinned to browser taskbar
From time to time, extensions are not properly pinned to browser taskbars because the JSON string is invalid. Because of this, we recommend that first you apply settings to a small number of users or browsers in a test organizational unit. Then, after you verify that extension policies are being applied correctly, you can fully deploy them.
- On a managed device, go to chrome://policy.
- Click Reload policies.
- Check the Show policies with no value set box.
- For the ExtensionSetting policy, make sure that Status is set to OK.
- For the ExtensionSetting policy, click Show more. In the Value field, use your preferred tool to make sure that there are no errors in the JSON code.
