May I know if I try the basic plan with less than 100 participants, will there be a limit to how many questions have been sent?

No, there is no limit on the number of questions those people can send.

The Basic plan does have a limit of 100 participants. The limit for polls is 3 per slido - you can review the types of polls allowed under each plan on our pricing page.
