Can I run a quiz so that people can go through questions at their own pace?

Dear Slido Developers,

I have created some quizzes with Slido and would like to share them with my students. Can I do that in a way so students can complete the quizzes on their own time and at their own pace?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Dragoana,
Thanks for your question!

Slido quizzes are specifically designed for live engagement and must be run live by a host or co-host. This means they cannot be completed by participants at their own pace.

However, one potential workaround is to use a Slido survey. A survey’s direct link will allow participants to complete it on their own time, but there won’t be any leaderboard afterwards like in a quiz.

I know a survey isn’t a perfect workaround, so feel free to submit your asynchronous quiz idea (or any other idea you have for Slido) to our Wishlist.

I hope that helps!

Hi,

Can I create a quiz that is NOT live? I would like to send participants a quiz after the course and not during it.

Hi @Yarelys,

Unfortunately, as mentioned above, it’s only possible to run a quiz live.

Maybe a survey could be an option for you too? Just like what was previously suggested?

Let me know if you need help with setting that up :)

I’m curious if a Slido quiz can move people to the next question only if they get the answer correct. And if they chose incorrectly, they would stay on the same question until they got it correct.

Also is it possible to put more than one quiz question on a page?

Hi @Haraiclark,

Sorry for the late reply!

Unfortunately, the way Slido quizzes are built is that the whole group of participants taking the quiz moves between questions together, no matter if the answers were correct or wrong.

It’s also not possible to put more than one question on a page for a quiz. You can try to use a survey instead, however, this would put all your questions on one page and I’m not sure if that’s what you were looking for. Also, a survey won’t give you a leaderboard of the participants at the end and you’ll have to export data after your event to determine the winner.

Let me know if there’s anything else that I can help with!

Hi, this seems a little silly that Slido has not yet solved this.

PLEASE create asynchronous quizzing ASAP. We’ve been asking for over a year now.

Hi @AlexanderJMorrissey

Thanks so much for your feedback here. Although we completely understand how an asynchronous quiz may be helpful to some users, we have not been able to prioritize it. I highly recommend checking our our Wishlist where you can search for this feature request and upvote it, or submit the idea yourself. That’s the best place to share your thoughts and use cases.

Hi,

Is there a way to set a time limit to the survey questions? We’re trying to launch an asynchronous quiz with a time limit to the questions to prevent the participants from googling and finding out the answers.
Would love any thoughts or ideas to carry this out.

Thank You!

Hi @Jefferson_Twelve

Slido quizzes are the only poll that features a timer for its questions. This is to streamline hosting a poll live. For better or worse, surveys are more likely used for participants to answer in their own time and therefore don’t have any sort of timer.

I hope that makes sense.

I completely agree with the above requests.  This would be such a good tool for audience engagement during event breaks and treasure hunt activities, I’m really disappointed the functionality doesn’t exist in Sli.do already.  Please develop it soon - you will make a lot of people happy! 😊

Anyone have a suggestion or found a platform that can support this? I love Slido and it works great in almost all circumstances. But I too need a self paced, but scored quiz that I can share with a group and leave open for an hour. I need to let people play on their own time, but still declare a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winner. Any other places to do this? Again, 100% happy with Slido, but I REALLY need this for a large upcoming event that is also using Slido for all sessions.

@HeyJoe  Did you ever find a solution?
