Configure both Member and Participant SSO in Entra ID

Good day! I am trying to configure both Member and Participant SSO in Entra ID and I am running into an issue. I was successful in setting up member SSO and limiting the access to the Enterprise Application to a specific AD group containing my members, but when I try to add a 2nd Enterprise app for the participant SSO integration, I get an error that the EntityID is not unique in the organization because the URL is the same as the member SSO ENt App that I already created.

Am I supposed to use the same enterprise application for both participant and member SSO? If so, how can I ensure that only those users that I have identified as members will be able to log in as a member and create Slidos?

Hi @SeanPattersonTTX

You can refer to our SSO guide for further instructions and assistance on setting up SSO for both participants and members:

There are also guides for creating your XML file specifically for Microsoft Entra ID.

If you continue having issues, can you please reach out to support@slido.com with as much information as possible including screenshots of errors as we may need to get the assistance of our specialist team.

Thanks,

Monica from Slido

Thank you, Monica, but the documentation does directly address coexistence of both member and participant SSO. I used these docs to configure (successfully) the member SSO, but I cannot add a 2nd app registration in EntraID for the participant SSO. I am trying to do this as two apps, because we want to restrict access to the member interface to the users that we have identified as members/admins; as well as allow all users to participate in Slidos.

I will reach out to support for assistance.

Best Regards,

Sean Patterson

Hi @SeanPattersonTTX!

Just wanted to share, a two app set up wouldn’t work with Azure. If you aren’t planning to use SCIM you can create 2 separate groups within 1 app in Azure (1 group for members, 1 group for participants) and assign users accordingly.

If you simply want to identify members and then allow anyone else to be a participant, you can also just set up the one application without assignment required enabled. This option can still use SCIM provisioning.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Christyn. We are all set. :)
