Display Names are not updated when using Okta SSO for participants

We have a user who changed their name recently. We use Okta as our IDP and the name has been updated in Okta, but when they launch Slido their old name is still displayed.

 

This user is a participant and does not have a member/admin account. It seems like the SAML asssertion is not updating the users name on their participant account.

What can i do to update a participant’s name in Slido if they don’t have an account as a member?

Hi ​@UpsideIT —

Great question! I wonder if your user is seeing the old name when they join a Slido they have previously joined, when the name hadn’t changed. If so, it could be that Slido saved the old name in the participant profile and it is pre-filling it for them. 

 

If this happens in newly visited Slidos then there might be an issue with the Okta-Slido enterprise app. In that case, would you please reach out to our support team at Support@Slido.com we’d be happy to dig a little deeper.

Ive confirmed this is only happening on older Slidos. A new Slido has their new name properly displayed.
