Slido is gradually rolling out a new user interface. If the below steps and visuals match what you are seeing within your account, then you are using the new interface and this article is for you. If not, please see this version.

Embed Slido into an event app and allow participants to interact with your slido inside the app. With Slido embedded, they can access it quickly and easily.

In this article:

Get your slido link for embedding

  1. Click the green Share button in the top right corner
  2. Select Copy link, which copies the link to your clipboard

Copy your slido link for embedding

The Participant mode or experience is now copied to your clipboard and can be pasted into your event app.

If you’d like, you can also embed your slido’s Present mode. Click the green Present button in the lower right corner and then copy/paste that link instead.

Get separate links for polling or Q&A

If you have multiple menu items available in your app, you can navigate your participants directly to Q&A or polls. To do so, just add /questions or /polls to your slido link.

For example:

Questions - https://app.sli.do/event/n3xbwn8w/questions

Polls - https://app.sli.do/event/n3xbwn8w/polls

Use your slido link within your event app

Every event app is a little different. But just about all of them will allow you to embed a web link (like Slido) into their platform. For example, check out the Webex Events guide for adding Slido to your custom event app.

Embed a specific slido room

To embed a specific slido room into your app, you’ll need to first get the URL of that room. To do so:

  1. In your slido, select the room you wish and click the green Present button in the bottom right corner
  2. Copy the URL from the new window that opens up
  3. Replace wall in the URL with app and paste it into the event app

Example link: https://app.sli.do/event/jmq0hgb9?section=04d69a05-96d7-43fc-a1b3-0321a3f1c18c

Pro tip: Embed Slido with query parameters
If you'd like to embed Slido into your event app behind its registration page, you can use query parameters. See our guide for embedding Slido into your website for more information.

I am using a trial account and I am trying to embed Slido in to a mobile app.

I am trying to enter a user_email as a query string parameter, but the email address is not displaying in the profile.

The email format is: user_name=firstName.lastName@somedomain.com

I have also tried: user_name=firstName%2ElastName@somedomain.com

And user_name=firstName.lastName@somedomain%2Ecom

In either case the email address does not show in the profile.

Hey @KMWenyon,

For query parameters, Slido actually uses a different variable for email addresses. Here’s an explanation:

In the following queries, replace NAME, EMAIL, and COMPANY with the corresponding variables from your website. We’re using John from Slido as a direct replacement:

To pre-fill multiple profile details with a single link, separate the parameters with the "&" symbol like so:

<iframe
src="https://app.sli.do/event/7q0zb4jq?user_name=John&user_email=john@slido.com&user_company=
Slido
" height="100%" width="100%" style="min-height: 560px;"></iframe>

Please also make sure to enable ‘Require email’ in your slido settings first.

We have a full, detailed guide for setting up query parameters here.

Hope this helps! :)

Wondering if there is any update on the event apps which integrate with Slido.  We are currently evaluating different app providers and would be helpful to understand which ones work best with Slido.

Hey @Jenesampson ,

We don’t have any new integrations available but we do have a few that you can integrate Slido with Live conferencing and event management platforms.

Let us know if these options would work for you or if you have any other questions!

Best,
