Slido’s recent webinar, Leading in the Age of AI: Why Being Human Matters More Than Ever, brought together Pali Dudrik, General Manager at Slido and Jo Massie, Customer Success Lead, for a refreshingly honest conversation about the rising role of human-centered leadership.
Why Human Leadership Still Matters
Rather than leaning into the AI hype, both speakers returned to a simple idea: technology is evolving fast. However, employees, now more than ever, crave connection, trust and honesty. As Pali shared, “AI can give you answers, but it can’t give you belonging.”
What Leaders Can Do That AI Can’t
Pali and Jo explored concrete actions leaders can take today that no AI model can replicate.
Jo highlighted the power of micro-moments in team interactions:
- Asking one more curious question
- Pausing to acknowledge someone’s effort
- Showing genuine interest
As she put it, “Engagement isn’t something you switch on during a meeting; it’s something you build in every interaction.”
Pali encouraged leaders to use AI as a support tool, not a shield. A way to free up time so they can be more human, not less.
Our Audience Agreed
When we asked webinar participants “What does human leadership mean to you?”, our Slido word cloud highlighted themes like empathy, trust, care, guidance and connection. A very powerful confirmation that these qualities matter deeply to today’s teams.

To sum it up, the conversation offered a hopeful reminder: in a time defined by intelligence that’s mostly artificial, the leaders who stand out will be the ones who double down on what’s real.
