Can I present Slido in PowerPoint without the add-in?

We will be presenting at a conference soon and the conference will pre-load the presentation on their laptops for my session. Will they need to have the slido add-in on their laptop for me to use slido? Can I still present and have all the necessary features (especially live results from questions) work as they should if they do NOT download the extension?

Hello @teribhigol,

That’s a great and important question. The answer is yes, in order for the integration to work properly in PowerPoint, the computer presenting must have the add-in installed. If they download the add-in, you can either log in to the Slido add-in on their laptop, or if it’s easier, you can invite the AV team or whoever may be running the laptop as a co-host on your slido. That way they can log in themselves and run your Presentation (including Slido) for you.

For the AV technician laptop that is running the slides, is there a way for the technician to log into a single account and be able to run a Slido from any presentation opened on that device? In other words, if there are 5 different decks during a session, each created by a different person and a different Slido account, can the tech be logged into their one account but be able to run each of the five decks without having to log in each time and without having to be added as a collaborator by the presenter? The login requirement is incredibly cumbersome for event teams operating presentations created from a variety of different Slido accounts.

Hi @dusty58.

The AV technician’s email address would be need to be added as a collaborator to all presenters’ slidos.  But it might be a step easier if all presenters are told to set up automatic access for their integrated presentations.

I hope that helps!
