Just activated the new Slido layout and I can no longer disable polls. How do I turn off polls completely? I only want Q&A to be displayed for my audience. I do not want to see the Polls tab at all. Right now under the Polls tab it says “There are no active polls at the moment” then there’s a button that takes you back to Q&A.

Hey @cloudcastmedia ,

Thanks for posting this!

This is currently a bug we are working on to allow for the Polls tab to be deactivated when you only want to use Q&A in Slido.

This feature will be available by the time we have the new interface enabled by default (with the option to still switch back to the old interface).

We have a special article to share what features we will be adding to the new interface and what features will be deprecated.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Best,

Hi, I’m still seeing polling - no way to turn it off. Is this fixed? Thanks,

FT Live

Hey @FT_Live ,

The option to disable Polls is currently being worked on.

We will be updating the article linked in my previous post when each feature has been completed and added to the New Host Mode.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Best,

How hard is it to remove the polls?  They used to be an option like everything else, leaving them on all the time is just a potential distraction. Please return the option for us to remove it.

Hey @Brad2112 ,

The ability to disable the Polls feature is currently being worked on. It will return to the New Interface soon.

There is an article linked above where we explain which features are being moved over/worked on for the New Interface.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Posted this issue 7 months ago. Any update if we can remove poll option when not in use? I reverted back to the old interface because this fault.

Hi @cloudcastmedia,

Not yet, for now please use the old interface to access the setting. We got a little delayed with this one, but we will not deactivate the old interface before adding this option to the new interface. Apologies for the hassle!

Lucia from Slido

Dear Slido team,

When this issue wil be solved?

Hi @Europa, we’re still evaluating whether to bring back the feature for disabling polls in our new Slido interface. For now, you can switch to the old Slido interface to access this feature. To stay up to date on features that may be returning or are being deprecated, please see this article

Hello, indeed we can go back to the old interface, then switch off the poll feature, and if desired go back to the new interface… the poll will remain disbaled.
But I’m surprised to see that the team is still evaluating if the poll can be disabled in the future???
I understand the eagerness to stimulate the poll feature, but, from the organizers and user experiience perspective, I don’t understand why this distraction can not be disabled if not needed.
I wonder if we will still be able to copy and old event, where the poll is disabled, to get a new one without (like a template)? It works for now.

Hi @markus-pxs

Thanks for the feedback and that’s a great workaround in the meantime. I can’t guarantee that it will work after the old interface is deprecated (May 27th), but I can promise that we’ll update this thread once we have a final decision from our product teams.

Appreciate your patience 🙏
