Participant limit relief for recurring university classes

Hello! I use Slido regularly in a university course with around 200 students (on the “Teacher” plan). In each class, a little over 100 students usually join and submit questions or responses.

For students, it is much easier if I can use the same Slido link or QR code throughout the semester. However, I am not sure how the participant limit works when the same Slido is used repeatedly. If around 100–200 students join the same Slido every week, are participants counted cumulatively toward the limit? This seems to be happening to me, because I often see the notification saying “You've recently exceeded the limit of 500 participants.”

Given my situation, I would really appreciate it if Slido could consider a feature for recurring classes. Creating a new Slido once in several weeks would avoid the limit issue, but it would also mean sharing a new link or QR code with students, which is confusing and inconvenient for them. Ideally, it would be useful to have a course mode where the link / QR code stays the same, while each class session is counted separately.

Thank you! I also appreciate any suggestion as to how I might avoid this kind of problem in the current version of Slido.

Hi @Ryo TANAKA 👋

Thanks for your submission. You are correct in that the participant limit is cumulative and so if you are using the same slido over and over, every participant joining counts towards that number.

However it would help at all, and depending on your plan level, you could set up a restricted access for your courses. This allows you to add your participants’ email addresses into the slido (you can even upload a csv file to speed up the process). Then when your students join, they’ll verify their email address. And when they join another time, because their email is verified...they’ll be identified as the same previous participant and won’t be added as an extra participant.

Thanks again for the idea. I wanted to share that suggestion just in case it’d be helpful 👍
