Slido has always been committed to listening to and learning from our users. One of the ways we do that is through the Slido Wishlist – where we gather ideas directly from our community.
This guide explains everything you need to know about the Wishlist, including how to submit and vote on ideas, plus how we use your feedback to build our products.

How to submit an idea
We welcome any and all ideas from our users and we try to make the submission process as easy as possible.
💡 Before you submit
- Search first: Your idea could already be there.
- Vote and/or leave a comment: If you find a similar idea, give it a vote and share your use case in the thread. The more detail, the better.
- Create a new idea: If you don’t find a similar idea, hit the Create an idea button. You’ll be asked to log in, but then you’re ready to go.
✍ Writing your idea
- Use a specific title: The more clear and direct the title is, the easier it is for anyone else to search for and find.
- Add a detailed description: Use the description field to better explain your idea and the problem it solves.
- Don’t group multiple ideas together: One idea per submission is always best. Otherwise it’s much harder to assess and categorize the idea.
- Select a product area: This dropdown menu helps us keep the wishlist organized. And it makes your idea easier for others to find.
Example idea:
Title – “Add upvotes to open text polls”
Description – “I'd like to see upvotes displayed directly in open text responses during live presentations. This would help me quickly identify the most popular answers especially when facilitating discussions with 50+ participants where time is limited."
Product area – “Polling”
💪 After submission
- Moderator review: Every new idea is reviewed by a moderator before going live. This helps us eliminate duplicates and keeps the Wishlist organized. Ideas are typically reviewed and posted after a few business days.
- Notifications: You’ll receive notifications whenever there is a comment added to your idea or when its status changes.
You can always adjust notification settings under My profile > Edit profile > Notifications.
How to vote and engage
- Browse ideas: You can filter ideas by their product category or status. And you can sort them by the most recently submitted or the most popular.
- Vote for other ideas: Click the vote button on any idea you’d like to see implemented within Slido. These votes help us understand what truly resonates with our users.
- Join the conversation: Don’t just vote, let us know why you support the idea. The more we can learn from our users about how and why a new feature would benefit them, the better.
Understanding Wishlist statuses
Every idea will go through a lifecycle from being first submitted, to potentially becoming a product update. For this reason, we use statuses to show where an idea is at within that lifecycle. Learn about all statuses below.

FAQs
Why doesn’t every highly voted idea get developed?
For better or worse, not every popular request will make it into production. Here are some of the main reasons for that:
- Simplicity: We prioritize features that enhance the core live interaction experience without adding unnecessary complexity
- Presenter and participant experience: We have to consider how new features might affect the user experience for both presenters and participants.
- Technical feasibility: Some great suggestions may require major technological changes that may affect reliability or performance.
- Alternative solutions: Sometimes we’re able to find a simpler solution that fixes an idea’s underlying problem.
How long before I hear back about my idea?
Most idea submissions will be live and ready for votes within one business day. Then the ideas that resonate the most within the community will be reviewed by our product teams on a quarterly basis.
Can I submit ideas in a non-English language?
Please submit in English if at all possible. This helps the entire community understand and support your idea.
How many votes does an idea need to be reviewed by product teams?
The number of votes needed for a product review (popularity threshold) varies depending on the volume of submissions we’re receiving.
What happens if my idea is similar to an existing one?
It’s always best to search for similar ideas and vote or comment on them – rather than submitting a duplicate. However, every submission is reviewed by our moderators before going live. This gives us the ability to merge similar ideas from the start.
