Structuring multiple speakers and decks for a single event

Our event consists of 2 days with 9 presenters.  It is all in a single room with each presenter bringing their own deck.  What is the best way for me to structure this?  I have a single event lisence.

Hey @jamie12ax7 ,

Thanks for sharing the details of your event.

For this, are all Presenters using the same polls for their sessions?

Typically, if you are hosting different presentations with a single Slido event with mulitple presenters, we would suggest creating Multiple Rooms for each session. This allows each presenter to input their respective Room into their own deck. There wont be any interference between the sessions either as you can only run 1 Slido room/session at a time.

The Slido event would look like this:

  • Room 1 > Presenter 1 Presentation
  • Room 2 > Presenter 2 Presentation

All the data will remain in the same Event, and you can see the room breakdown in the exports of the data as well.

Let us know if this helps or if you have any other questions!

Best,

My team is considering Slido for a similar event and trying to determine basic logistics.  Our speakers will probably each have different questions, but there will only be one presentation going on at a time.  We would like to use one slido so that we can print the link/qr code on our materials for participants as we have done in the past using a different platform.

We will have an AV company running the power-points (with speaker advancing slides), so I’m wondering is it feasible to ask 30+ speakers to install the slido plugin on their computers and all add a single shared slido to their presentation (with rooms, probably?) or would it be better to just ask them to give us their interaction requests, we set it up via the web interface and have the AV company run them separately during the event?  Or maybe we would ask the presenters to put a placeholder slide in their presentations, and then when we receive the power points, we would quickly embed the slido with appropriate questions in the version of the presentation we will share.  That could cause difficulties when presenters have last minute updates to their slides.  Are there other ways to do this? Has anyone got experience managing dozens of questions from different speakers, from different institutions, across 30 some odd presentations in a multi-day event?

Hi @LurieCancerCenter.

We have seen events of your scale work with each of the setups you described, but it may come down to managing the diversity of your speakers.

When coordinating the logistics is too much of a task for our users, they often have one device for presentation decks and another device and Slido’s Present mode.  With this setup, the AV team would wait for the cue to switch to projecting Slido while you or a Co-host activates a poll.  This can all be rehearsed with test responses before your live event.

Speakers can be invited as Co-hosts to the slido, so they can add their interactions.  Multiple rooms can be designated for each speaker if it helps to organize the interactions.  Participants would scan the QR code and then select an activated room.  The QR code can be downloaded ahead of time for your distribution materials.

For our PowerPoint integration, the Slido add-in needs to be downloaded onto the presenting devices.  With multiple rooms, each presentation connects to a single room.

I hope that helps!
