It would be great to have the ability to be able to ‘Present in Teams’ and still have Slido QR codes present. I appreciate there is a plugin for Teams and you can share screen from Teams to show the PPT but doing it this way blocks one screen as it is required in full presentation mode, and it also creates buffering issues when showing videos. Thanks for the consideration!

Hi @rosscaldwell 👋

Thanks for the idea! Could you perhaps explain a little more what you mean here so we can look into further?

Thanks!

When using the “Present in Teams” button in PowerPoint (instead of screen sharing) during a Teams meeting, the Slido QR code slide does not display correctly. Instead, participants only see the placeholder slide.

  • Preferred Method: Presenting via “Present in Teams” is the recommended approach because:
    • It streams video content smoothly (buffers properly for attendees).
    • It avoids the need for full-screen mode and a second monitor, making the setup simpler and more efficient.
  • Impact on Engagement: If the QR code doesn’t appear, participants cannot join Slido, which defeats the purpose of interactive polls.

Ideally Slido would ensure that when a QR code slide is inserted in PowerPoint, it displays correctly when using the “Present in Teams” feature—just like it does when screen sharing.

Hope that is clearer. You can read more about ‘Present in Teams/Powerpoint Live’ here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/present-from-powerpoint-live-in-microsoft-teams-28b20e74-7165-499c-9bd4-0ad975d448ad

Hey @rosscaldwell 👋

Thanks so much for following up. And you’re right in that Presenting in Teams and PowerPoint Live are currently not supported by the Slido add-in.

This is definitely something that’s come up before and so let’s see what traction it gets in our community. Thanks again for submitting!
